I'm not an active member of any fandom or rp group these days, but I've had an itch to commission works of old characters just so I could have a visual of these guys, SO here are a few ideas:
Changeling: the Dreaming
Elle in her mortal seeming doing something motherly, perhaps cradling a sleeping Robert in her lap
Baking her nightmare-inducing peach pies/cobblers for the unsuspecting mortal neighbors. Gotta harvest that glamour somehow

On OCs and FCS

Rewind about four-five years ago, and I would have agreed with the notion that if you don't like a certain oc or fc, block it, and move on. Don't criticize it. Let the maker have their happiness, and while to this day I agree that people should create something for their own personal enjoyment if they so wish, do I dare say that if you're going to publish something before the public eye, you have to swallow the fact that some people simply aren't going to like it and will likely say something about it?
In this case, there are two things that you -as a writer or artist- can do. You can either change whatever it is about your character the critics don't like, or you can simply shrug it off and keep doing what you're doing. The point is, it's up to you whether or not the critiques are really worth acknowledging, especially if you're requesting that people treat your character with the same respect as a canon character, but ESPECIALLY if you plan on making a livelihood off of storytelling.
If you have any experience whatsoever with fandoms then you know how much heat a certain canon character can get for some sort of quality they may possess. Just from my personal experience, I can name several canon characters that catch crap for simply existing.
Kagome Higurashi and Shippou from Inuyasha, Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog, Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. Back when I was a teenager, Anzu from YuGiOh caught the ire of many fans. Nowadays, Rumpelstiltskin, Captain Hook, and Neal Cassidy are hated mostly for shipping reasons, but it's their qualities that get attacked, and all of this is fine. I don't exactly recall their creators doing anything about it, releasing statements on their blogs that acknowledged the bashers.. They just kept doing what they wanted to do, writing the stories they wanted to write.
You can't have it both ways. You can't make demands of fans that they treat your OC/FC with the same attitude as a canon character but then get angry when they judge your character for having a weak presence, whether it be for their design, their backstory, or their personality.
All of this is to say that just as people are going to dislike and criticize and straight up bash canon characters for any numerous reasons, they will do the same to your characters as well. You can either reanalyze your own creation and make adjustments, or you can just ignore it and continue building on the character the way YOU see fit.

Notepad scribbles- Naruto OC

I'm actually going to be applying for this character on forum rp, but I hope to have her appear here as well.
'Kay, so, basics. Her name will be Yin-Tao. No family name. She hails from the Land of Rivers, where she was raised as a ninja by her master. I know he'll teach her how to use a meteor hammer, but I can't decide on the martial art discipline. Water or Earth will be her releases. She'd use Water to fight in the rivers, enabling her to breathe, see, and move faster while submerged. Earth could be useful too, allowing her to create mud and fight on it while her opponent slips about. Mud monsters could be fun.
Due to her raisings, she will have skill in survival and hunting. She will know how to identify animals by their footprints and calls and know the plants of the area. Fishing and river boat riding are givens. During a trip to the River's capital, her master adopted the local religion. His belief in the river, sky, and meadow dieties became Yin-Tao's belief. She is of a pious nature with a tendency towards judging the moral codes of others.
Detriments: poor people skills. She has little understanding of the technology of that day. Her master is the only person she trusts.
I'll probably be editing this thing a lot as the ideas come.

2. Where does your OC work? As an Akimichi, Cho-Li works as a ninja; however, she can often be seen around her family's soup kitchen.
3. What's your OCs favorite food? Oh Loooooord. Food is a lifestyle in her family. She likes anything with fruit in it, though. Cake with fruit toppings comes to mind, as well as fruit salad mixed with whipped cream.
4. Does your OC prefer paper or plastic? Paper
5. How old is your OC? She recently turned 15.
6. Does your OC have any supernatural powers? She's a butterfly with super-strength! Pow-pow!
7. Is your OC in a relationship? Pft. Who's got time for relationships? She's too busy trying not to die.
8. What are some of your OCs strengths? The Akimichi is physically powerful and very good with a guan-dao. Personality-wise, her greatest strength would be perhaps her headstrong determination. It also tends to weigh her down, though. If you work too hard, your body and mind start to show it, after all.
9. What are some of your OCs weaknesses? Cho-Li is massively vindictive. Sure, you may not know she's upset about you talking her down, but don't be surprised if you wake up the next morning with piles of caterpillars and creepy-crawlies in bed with you.
10. What is your OCs favorite outfit? Her favorite outfit is one that she rarely wears, because it's very special! It's a periwinkle hanfu with jade-green accents. She got to wear it during graduation, and she felt so pretty! <3
